This is a quick, easy, healthful Honey Mustard dressing that adds a punch of sweetness to your favourite salad ingredients. I love it on Avocado and Mango Salad!
I like to keep at least one jar of homemade salad dressing in my refrigerator. I often talk about how easy it is to mix up a quick salad with nourishing ingredients when the dressing is already prepped. This Honey Mustard Salad Dressing is one of my staples often rotated with my Simple Herb Vinaigrette.
I made this salad with a few, simple, fresh ingredients:
- lettuce/spinach mix
- red onion rings
- orange segments
- toasted sliced almonds
This vinaigrette is also great for salads with ham or grilled chicken.
Unlike many manufactured salad dressings, this one is actually very good for you. When it's so easy to make, why wouldn't you make your own! Just shake the ingredients together in a jar, and it's ready to pour or store in the refrigerator for later use.
Honey Mustard Salad Dressing Ingredients
Olive Oil
We've all heard how great olive oil is for us. Rich in healthful monounsaturated fats, it's an important component of the Mediterranean diet. I don't cook with olive oil often, because it's easily damaged by heat. So, when I have an opportunity to enjoy it uncooked as in this vinaigrette, I'll do it.
Apple Cider Vinegar
The benefits of apple cider vinegar include weight loss, reduced cholesterol, lower blood sugar levels and improved symptoms of diabetes.
Raw Honey
Honey is another ingredient that I like to use raw. Raw honey not only provides antioxidants, but also promotes sleep and healing! Who knew? I buy mine by the small pail from a local beekeeper.
Dijon Mustard
My preference is grainy dijon mustard for my salad dressing. You could substitute non-grainy dijon or even regular prepared mustard if you wish.
